Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Due Diligence

Most people traditionally associate the need for due diligence with the buyer.  While that is true, a seller is well advised to use our robust checklists.

Owners selling their company dread the due diligence process if they know anything about what’s coming.  It’s the part of the sale where they’re pretty sure that the buyer is calling their baby ugly!  You can’t completely get around that, but you can be well prepared.  By knowing what the typical buyer will be asking for and having prepared in advance, you will look like the best company the buyer has ever seen.  Don’t expect them to tell you that, but I will.  In the same way that I can assist buyers with a due diligence checklist, I can prepare you as the seller.  It may still feel like a trip to the proctologist, but perhaps the process will only be three days instead of three weeks.
